Krimml Waterfalls
Krimml, the hospitable mountain village in the midst of the Hohe Tauern National Park, offers us an imposing natural attraction. At a total height of 380 metres, the Krimml Waterfalls are the fifth-highest in the world and simultaneously the tallest in all of Europe. The Grossglockner and the High-Alpine Road
The Grossglockner High-Alpine Road leads out into one of the Earth’s most magnificent natural landscapes, the Hohe Tauern National Park. In a matter of kilometres, you will traverse all climate and vegetation zones between Austria and the Arctic: meadows, forests, alpine pastures, rock and ice. Within the framework of a variety of exhibits and special events held along the High-Alpine Road, you will learn everything there is to know about Austria’s highest mountain.

Leisure Activities in and around the Rottenburg
Rottenburg – a wonderful place for a get-away, flanked by an array of natural monuments and sights. Hike, see, feel... experience everything anew. All of this in a top location in Buch near Jenbach – at the entrance to the Ziller Valley. The Rottenburg was actually first documented back in 1263 and the “Lords of the Rottenburg” were amongst the most powerful nobility in the entire land. Here, in this wonderful setting, you have a clear sense that you find yourself in a very special place.

World of Ice Giants - Werfen
The World of Ice Giants is located about 20 km from Salzburg City. Even from far away, you can espy the mighty entrance to the cave – 20 m in width and 18 m high. From here, guides lead you into the mountain’s interior. The entire cave system stretches out for some 42 km, though only 1 km is actually coated with ice. You are certain to be fascinated by the ice sculptures and other shapes created by Mother Nature herself!

Hohenwerfen Castle
With the Tennengebirge in the background and located only about 20 km south of Salzburg City, Hohenwerfen Castle towers up towards the sky. The castle sits proudly enthroned above the Salzach Valley and can be seen from far afield. It is best reached via the Tauern Autobahn. During the summer months, the castle hosts a variety of events. The bird-of-prey show is particularly popular with visitors.

Liechtenstein Gorge
Liechtenstein Gorge lies in a small side valley only about 3 km from St. Johann i. Pg. Woven in legend, this gorge was developed and opened up to the public by members of the Pongau Alpine Association in 1875-1876. Today’s visitor doesn’t require any special equipment in order to visit the gorge. After a brief walk, you will reach the waterfall at the end of the gorge. If the conditions are right, you will be able to enjoy a wonderful rainbow floating above the valley floor.

Kaprun - Mosserboden Reservoir
A visit to the Tauern Power Station is always rewarding. Once up at the Mooserboden, you can enjoy fantastic views of the glaciers of the Upper Kaprun Valley in the Hohe Tauern National Park, hike across the Moosersperre Dam to the “Power and Ice” visitors center, or take part in a tour of the dam wall itself, as you get to know the inner workings of the dam and all of the safety measures that went into its construction.

Salzburg Open-Air Museum - Grossgmain
Steam engines, vintage tractors, an old micro-brewery, a grocer’s, a sawmill, a woodcutter’s hut, cobbler’s workshop and a smithy: Just a few of the many objects on display at the Salzburg Open-Air Museum in Grossgmain – set on around 50 hectares of land. On your way through the expansive museum grounds, you will discover the rich variety of rural culture, picking up fascinating insights into five centuries of country life. Swarovski Crystal Worlds
Crystal is a source of inspiration for art and science, an “uber-metaphor” if you will, a textual leitmotif, a framework of ideas for thinkers, multi-faceted symbol and aesthetic work of wonder. The Crystal Worlds were created in order to create a tangible, magical monument – and to mark the 100-year anniversary of Swarovski in 1995.
