Philosophy & History
2009 Sonnleiten is celebrating 45 successful years!
History
The hotel
SONNLEITEN was founded by
Maria und Hans Schraffl, grandparents of today’s hosts and proprietors, and first
opened as a bed and breakfast with 30 beds in Saalbach. Nearly ten years
later, in 1973, the place became too small and had to be extended up to 80
beds. At the same time it acquired the classification of a 4-star-hotel. From 1975
onwards the hotel was managed by daughter Gitti Gerns and her husband Dieter for
the following 25 years.
The hotel reached its current capacity of 100 beds in
the year 2000 and has been managed since then by Dino and Birgit
Gerns.
Our philosophy
Our family owned hotel has ever since been a stylish and
hearty place, where warm hospitality and our guests’ well-being are our
priority.
We are also delighted to offer fine
cuisine and the best service standards in the cosy
atmosphere and traditional setting of our hotel.
Dino Gerns: "We try to combine
the traditional and well-known with the new and innovative. Of course, always
keeping in mind that our guests’ well being and the best quality service have
top priority."
Our guests appreciate the
location directly on the ski slopes and the unique and beautiful scenery
around the hotel, high above Saalbach. We will look after you during
your stay for a stress free and relaxed holiday. We strive
to create an ambience that will leave you feeling fresh
and relaxed.
An atmosphere that will provide a refreshing change from
everyday life, and provide rest and recuperation.
“Gern bei Gerns“ (happy at
Gerns’) is a guest book entry by one
of our guests, and we have made it our motto, one that
we like to keep in mind constantly.
